This episode was so much more emotional than I at first anticipated. The beginning was actually really funny! (Despite Chief Vick announcing her leave) with Lassie and the lemon water and everything, it was all pretty hilarious. But then little by little it got emotional and by the end I was completely sobbing. The way Juliet is when Lassie comes in as Chief, so EXTREMELY proud of her partner she can’t even contain her excitement but despite the fact that, as Jules said, Lassie just got- no, he EARNED- his LIFELONG FREAKIN DREAM, his BIRTHRIGHT… He just couldn’t be happy. He couldn’t imagine having the job he aspired for, for SO LONG, if Jules wasn’t by his side. In that speech, every little word he said was so emotional and beautiful and in that moment, she realised she couldn’t let him sacrifice that for her, even if he was willing to. She just loved him too much to let him lose that for her sake. Just goes to show how much more they were than partners, they were best friends, they would never leave each other’s side, and they’d do anything to make the other happy.
